Anna Mazek-Vann, LCPC, CDVP
Anna Mazek-Vann, LCPC, CDVP is bilingual (English/Polish) therapist who provides individual, couples and family therapy to children, teens and adults from diverse backgrounds. She is culturally sensitive LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. She has extensive training and experience working with complex trauma, sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, childhood trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, grief and loss, substance abuse, mood disorders, and anxiety. She works with gambling and kleptomania as well as substance abuse. She offers support to first responders (firefighters, paramedics, police, etc.) and their loved ones, in which she addressed issues of trauma, stress, crisis response, relationships and the impact their job has on the family.
Anna started her career in a healthcare setting, working directly with individuals and families in crisis. As a crisis intervention counselor, Anna provided emotional support, crisis intervention services, case management and education to patients, families, first responders and medical staff. She developed and implemented educational programs on suicide prevention and screening, intimate partner violence, sexual assault intervention, trauma informed care and toxic stress. She continued her career in community mental health agency where she worked to empower survivors of intimate partner violence.
She approaches therapy through client centered theoretical approach from a biopsychosocial perspective. She creates an empathetic, supportive environment, focusing on the strengths and internal resources of the client, establishing common goals, thus empowering the client to make lasting changes.
Anna is an EMDR trained therapist. She also has training in Divorce Mediation, Crisis Intervention Management, anger management, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Internal Family system, Dissociative disorders, and Human Trafficking. Anna has completed Level 1 and 2 Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
Anna offers groups for First Responders, families of first responders and Homicide survivors support group. She also offers workshops in Relationship and communication building for couples, Anger management, Process group for survivors of Intimate Partner Violence. She offers onsite crisis intervention management services. She also provides assessment and certification for emotional support animals.
Anna is currently licensed in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Florida, and Colorado.
She is an active advocate to end violence in the world.
